Our bodies are amazingly smart, unfortunately, we try to distort them into what society says they should do and look like instead of listening to their wisdom. Our classes allow each student to drop into themselves and be curious. Guidance is given to maintain a safe practice with options to move as your body needs to move at any given time. We meet you where you are, honoring your bodies continuous changing nature.

The Sky Styx methodology is designed to safely support us to move, to invigorate our bodies and minds with wholesome fun even as we reclaim flexibility, unkink our posture, strengthen our core, uplift our attitude and recharge our life.

Sky Styx is like having a personal yoga assistant. They allow you to safely explore the current potential of your body; they give you support to press down and lift up, lightening the load when bending your knees; they act as another limb during balancing; they bring easy alignment to your spine—relaxing your back and neck in ways you never thought possible; they strengthen core and extremities without straining joints, tendons, ligaments or muscles; they help unwrap chronic tightness in the fascia; they serve as a visual reminder to stay present, focused, relaxed and curious.

This methodology was created for individuals over 50, however, it has proven effective and fun for all ages. Whether it's someone new to yoga, the active athlete, the golfer, the young and curious or just anyone that is human.

Yoga Nidra

A STATE OF RELAXATION
Yoga Nidra is known as yogic sleep and is described as the consciousness between sleeping and waking. The recipient is guided into a relaxed state and different aspects of the body. It is excellent for reducing stress and self-empowerment.

One of the most important tips will be to listen to your body, you should not feel any pain or strain at any time.

Improve Balance & Strength

Your balance, strength and alignment will improve with continued practice. Sky Styx allows safe exploration of your body. With time, every part of your body strengthens and aligns in a gentle way. Continual movement allows the body to be its best self, especially as we age. This methodology was geared for individuals over the age of 50, however, it has proven to be fun and effective in individuals of all ages and abilities. There are always modifications in this practice because everyone's BODY is unique.

Sky Styx serve as a visual reminder to stay present, focused, relaxed and curious. As we move from place to place each day, trying to multitask—we don't spend much time "being in our bodies." Sky Styx become a visual reminder to practice being present, being relaxed and at the same time focused and of course; curious. Throughout the class there is time to notice the sensations in the body and move to our unique rhythm which often speaks but is often hushed because of other things going on around us.
